Once again, Lehigh Valley Christian High School students rose early in the morning to participate in the nationally observed “See You at the Pole” public prayer ceremony. Like their peers across America, LVCHS students met a tad after 7:00 a.m. to join hands around both the Christian and American Flag poles.

The students lifted up the nation, its leaders, other schools and the plight of Christians worldwide. A number of faculty and staff personnel also prayed, led by Mr. Brennan, Head of School. After prayer, Donovan O’Rourke and Matt (Chachi) Cooper led the students in worship. Before going to home room, the students enjoyed refreshments, compliments of volunteers.
SYATP has its origins in 1990 when a group of teenagers in Burleson, TX assembled at a discipleship retreat and agreed to go to other schools and pray around the campus’ flagpoles for their friends and fellow students. Later that year, some 45,000 students, representing 1,200 schools in four states, met to take up the 7:00 a.m. prayer challenge. Within only a couple of years, students were praying in several countries around the world. Now, more than 3 million students from all 50 states participate in SYATP. In addition, students in more than 20 countries now take part!
