Parent-Student Handbook

At LVCHS we believe in “partnership education.” We are grateful to God and the parents of our students for the opportunity to “partner with parents” in the training of teenagers. Our intent is to structure a positive, nurturing learning environment where we experience the best of everything inherent in the words “Christian” and “school.”

This handbook is designed to give you an understanding of how LVCHS functions. Even though there is that special bond of God’s love that unites us, there is nevertheless a need for day-to-day regulations which help us understand the principles and procedures that underlie our relationship with each other. For that reason it is necessary for all students and their parents to have a working knowledge of at least the second and third sections of this handbook. A signed certification to this effect is therefore required from each student at the beginning of the term.

Most importantly, behind the information here is a Person and an Idea. The Person is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We desire that He be both the center and the circumference of everything we do. The Idea is simple: “Behold, children are a heritage of the Lord.” Our task is to cherish and nurture that heritage. By God’s grace we will do so in the classroom, on the athletic, on the concert stage and in all the co-curricular activities which are a part of school life.

The development of a total person who views the world from a biblical perspective is our primary objective. We invite the cooperation and involvement of each student and parent in the task of accomplishing this.
